I have a friend who, at the end of a camping trip, would tell her kids, let’s leave this site better than we found it. The kids would then pick up at least 5 pieces of extra trash that they didn’t leave.
I love this.
But what if we did this at the beginning of the trip as well. So that not only do we leave it cleaner, we enjoy it cleaner.
It’s sort of the same idea that we apply to money. Most of us save a little and put money in our retirement account, and we hope to leave some to the kids. But most of us also aim to use our savings. We create a plan for our own security and enjoyment.
When we talk about the planet, some of us are are motivated by what kind of world we want to leave behind. A legacy of good stewardship.
What if we were motivated by what kind of planet we can create in front? A life of sustainable fulfillment.
What if we considered how to make it better now so that we can also enjoy more of it, now? Whether you’re 20 or 80, there are small and big ways, and small and big places we can make better now and enjoy more now too.
A better planet is not only the responsibility of the next generation, but it’s also not just the home of future generations. It’s ours. Now.

We're planting trees along the riverbank where we live - so save the bank from erosion. It's beautiful watching them grow tall and strudy.
