We’ll continue with the skepticism post tomorrow, but for today, a little gardening…
As a yard or a garden matures, you always have to re-evaluate whether the plants are getting what they need. Has that tree started to shade out the plants below it? Is that shrub getting too stressed in the sun and the heat?
When plants don’t get enough sun, they become ‘leggy’ - too much stalk and not enough foliage, or they fail to bloom properly. Or if other plants are getting too much sun, they wilt, or scorch, or just wither (this feels like me in the Tennessee sun actually).
Over the last two or three years, a lot has changed in our lives. Some vistas have opened up, others become a bit more covered. So it might be worth taking some time to notice what in our lives need a bit more light, and what is a bit stressed, and we could move into the shade.
What about work, or finances? Do they need a bit more sun, or should they moved into the back a little? Time with kids, or hobbies? What about your health and diet? Sleep? Exercise? Travel? Home? Family? Technology? Relaxing time?
If you were to look at your post-lockdown life like an evolving garden, with no judgement, just an eye to giving your different priorities the right amount of light for right now (which will still evolve and change over time)…….
……what might you consider replanting?
Love this....
I love this garden analogy, Anne. It resonates perfectly for me.
